Determining when you’re done with psychotherapy is totally dependent upon your goals and your ability to continue working together.
Changing the way you think, feel and behave can be quite a process. Depending on your goals, you may feel better after each session, or you may feel better several sessions from when we begin working together.
Simply put, yes. Your private health information is yours. There are certain instances when our clinic may need to use it, but it’s not common. You can review that policy here.
What we discuss in therapy is related to your goals and your life. Being vulnerable and willing to share will help your psychotherapist get a better picture of your life and your goals.
No. We are not prescribers, but we may make suggestions on getting in touch with a prescriber.
No. Everything you share helps us understand you better. If you repeat things, we may simply ask more questions to try and understand better.
There are no requirements in therapy sessions. If you do not want to talk about something, you will not be forced to. However, being vulnerable and sharing with us almost always leads to better results.
No, we are honored you chose us to trust with your mental health care.
Your choice to participate in psychotherapy is personal but can come along with unwarranted judgment or reluctance from your family. First, you do not need to disclose whether or not you are in therapy to anyone. If you wish, your therapist and you can determine the best ways to talk about it with your family.
A therapeutic relationship works best if each party is honest with one another. If you feel that at any point your therapist is not a good fit for you, we encourage you to let us know as that can improve the fit. You may discontinue working together and seek out another provider. We have multiple referrals we can provide to help in such case.
Our practice welcomes and engages people of all walks of life. However, at this time, we are not accepting clients under the age of 18.
